is a yoga teacher trainer, speaker and an international seminar
presenter. She
and her colleague, Julie Byrd, are
co-founders of Balance Your Body Yoga and Pink Ribbon Recuperative Yoga
Training.
Amy teaches group classes, private classes and corporate classes.
Amy began teaching yoga in the 90’s, drawing on a teaching
background of
pilates, fitness, dance and athletics. Her pursuit of knowledge about
the human body and human performance have lead her to study different
yoga styles, fitness programs and healing techniques.. Through her
studies of human anatomy and physiology, she has developed a
deeper
understanding of muscular imbalances, and carefully crafted the
strategies to adapt
poses for
any student regardless of their starting point.
Drawing on the methods developed by Balance Your Body
Yoga, Amy centers on balancing muscle structures and guides each
student in their search for health and wellbeing. Students
learn to connect deeply to their core, become stronger and feel
centered and present.
Amy has developed the art to craft yoga classes that are
relevant and beneficial for
everyone from the recuperative level, to the weekend warrior and to the
elite athlete. She
teaches yoga from an intuitive and
highly developed understanding and respect of the complexities of the
human
body. With Amy's compassionate guidance and enthusiasm, students learn
to adapt
poses and exercises to achieve their goals from a safe, intelligent and
well-laid foundation. Through creativity, imagination and
inspiration, she teaches to honor the wisdom of the body and work
according to its limits and strengths..
